Football Insider have revealed that Mauricio Pochettino is ‘well aware’ that Conor Gallagher could be sold this summer by Chelsea, with Tottenham circling over the midfielder.
Tottenham’s interest in Gallagher has been well-documented since last summer, with Fabrizio Romano explaining just a couple of days ago that Ange Postecogolou had identified the 24-year-old as a key target as soon as he walked through the door at Spurs last summer (GiveMeSport
Over the past couple of weeks, various outlets have suggested that amidst interest from Spurs and West Ham, Chelsea have decided they will sell their academy graduate before June 30 in order to ensure they do not face sanctions for breaking the PSR rules (The Times).Pochettino aware of Conor Gallagher situation
The same information has now been backed up by Football Insider who say that Chelsea are expected to move on their academy graduate by the end of June after recording losses of £211.5m in the last two seasons.
The report says the Blues know that they need to ‘sacrifice’ their academy graduate and that Tottenham remain in ‘hot pursuit’ of the player.
The publication adds that contract talks between the West London club and Gallagher have completely stalled and that Pochettino is aware that the England international might depart as soon as the transfer window opens.
It is now an open secret that Gallagher will depart Chelsea in June, with the only question being where he would end up. I am sure that the Blues would prefer to sell the midfielder to a club other than Spurs.
However, the 24-year-old has plenty of power since he has just a year left on his deal and he might be leaning towards a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
