Surprise New Trainer Announced by Campbell Hatton

Campbell Hatton Announces Shock New TrainerCampbell Hatton is making big changes after his first defeat earlier in the year and has now revealed he has linked up with a shock new trainer.

Competing in his inaugural title bout, Hatton faced off against James Flint for the Central Area super-lightweight title at the Sheffield Arena.

Although many onlookers admired Campbell’s determination throughout the difficult contest, it was Flint who emerged victorious with a fairly comfortable unanimous decision from the judges.

Just a week after his defeat, the 23-year-old son of boxing legend Ricky Hatton made a significant decision and opted to part ways with his longtime trainer and uncle, Matthew Hatton.

Matthew has been instrumental in guiding the young fighter through both his amateur and professional career so far across 15 fights. However, ‘The Hurricane’ expressed on social media that this decision was necessary for his continued growth in the sport.

Smith has worked alongside Davison for a number of years, helping to guide the rising stable of talent that the duo have acquired.

Davison is a still young but already accomplished trainer. He first broke onto the scene when he oversaw Tyson Fury’s return to action after he ballooned in weight and took time off following his win over Wladimir Klitschko.

He has also recently done a fine job of getting Anthony Joshua back to his best having worked with him for his last two fights, both of which were impressive knockout wins over Otto Wallin and then Francis Ngannou.

This could be a great move for Hatton as he looks to rebuild from his first loss and get back to winning ways.
