Former world champion, who defeated James DeGale, is set to retire soon.

A former world champion who once beat British super middleweight talent James DeGale has announced his retirement from boxing.

On Wednesday, the Osseo native Caleb Truax called time on his career and in a new video posted on social media declared his retirement from the ring.

 

 one-time International Boxing Federation super middleweight World Champion, “Golden” leaves the sport behind with a record of 31 wins, 6 losses, and 2 draws.

A standout moment in Truax’s career was his stunning upset victory over DeGale for that IBF title in December 2017, making him one of just four Minnesotans to ever hold boxing world championships.

  1. Truax shared a video on social media revealing his decision to retire, expressing gratitude to those who supported him throughout his journey. He also revealed that he is transitioning into the real estate business however he intends to maintain his connection to boxing in some capacity.
