Remarkable: the explanation behind Josh Hart’s five-game absence is now known

The New York Knicks failed to close out the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5 after losing in overtime, 106-112.

The Knicks, who still hold a 3-2 series lead, were up six late in the game but allowed the Sixers to claw back in the final moments.

Josh Hart, though, had a chance to seal the win for New York but just made 1-of-2 free throws to put his team only up by three in the closing seconds, which set up the game-tying triple from Tyrese Maxey that forced overtime.

After the game, Hart commented on the blunder that could have given the Knicks a win in Game 5.

“I know what the situation is, and I gotta take it on the chin. It won’t happen again,” Hart said in a report by The Athletic’s Fred Katz.
