76ers' Nick Nurse still encourages 'physical' play vs. KnicksSixers head coach Nick Nurse injured his finger during Game 5 vs. the New York Knicks and couldn’t draw up plays. The severity of his injury has yet to be disclosed.

During the Sixers’ Game 5 win over the New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden, head coach Nick Nurse reportedly injured his finger.

Per SNY’s Ian Begley, the play-caller slammed his hand in frustration on a call during the game. Unclear if it is a break or a sprain, Nurse couldn’t draw plays up in the second half because he couldn’t grip a marker.

The game, a 112-106 thriller that went down to the wire, saw the 76ers trail by six with 28.2 seconds remaining before storming back to force overtime.

That was the second coaching injury in a matter of days as Timberwolves bench boss Chris Finch suffered a torn patellar tendon during Minnesota’s Game 4 win over the Phoenix Suns after getting knocked over into the front row.

The severity of Nurse’s injury has yet to be disclosed, as the Sixers are looking to come back from a 3-2 deficit in the series.
