Chelsea are said to be keeping an eye on the situation as they potentially look to bring in another new goalkeeper ahead of next season.
Commenting on the speculation via his Daily Briefing page [2 May], Romano said: “I’m aware there have been reports of interest in signing Jordan Pickford this summer.
“My understanding is that Pickford’s situation could be one to watch in general, but it depends on Everton.
At the moment I’m not aware of contacts with Chelsea but let’s see what they decide to do on the goalkeeper position in general; also Kepa will return, so there are already three important goalkeepers at the club and this will be a topic before bringing in a new one.”
And if Everton need to bring in big cash at short notice, unfortunately it looks as though Pickford could be one of those who is off.
Chelsea have not had great luck with goalkeepers in recent times, but in Pickford they have a stopper guaranteed to improve their side.
