Mavs player makes unexpected statement that NBA Presidents and General Managers prevented Kyrie Irving and LeBron James from getting back together.

NBA GMs and Presidents stopped Kyrie Irving and LeBron James reunion, reveals Mavs star in surprising admission – FirstSportzThe 2016 NBA champions are having quite the opposite season this year as Kyrie Irving has advanced to the second round of playoffs while Lebron James left the postseason a bit early. However, the duo could have avoided the situation as they wanted to team up again last but sadly business came in the way.

Kyrie Irving surprisingly revealed while speaking with Fox Sports that he and LeBron James were discussing getting together in LA. Unfortunately, the opportunity to witness the reunion was lost, as the members of the organization could not come to a reconciling decision.

He’s a great friend of mine, a great brother of mine. We obviously played together [in Cleveland]. Everybody knows our history. But there were so many different factors in between. When it comes to business decisions, you have to ask the GMs, the presidents why certain things didn’t work out. Kyrie Irving via Fox Sports

The pair were at the peak of their career together in the Cleveland Cavaliers as they gave the organization its first and only championship. NBA fans would have cherished watching the duo matchup again as they are potentially near the finish line of their careers. The discussions were started by James after Irving requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets in 2023.

But Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks instead to pair up with Luka Doncic. Despite the landing spot being different than what the guard hoped for, Irving decided to give his best for the team. It is safe to say that the star made the right decision as the duo is now thriving in the postseason. James, however, is left on the downside of the conclusion.

Irving was being truthful when he called James a friend and brother. Despite leaving the postseason in the first round, James has shown nothing but support to Irving during the star’s incredible performances in the first-round games.

The Mavericks initiated dominance against the Clippers in game 5 as the team took the road victory. While Doncic led the pack, Irving showed his phenomenal handles and scoring ability shocking the NBA world. James was also among the enthusiastic fans as he tweeted singing high praise of his ex-teammate.

James also tuned into game 6 as the Mavs closed out the series. Irving scored the game-high 30 points making James tweet again. Despite not playing together for many years James and Irving undoubtedly still have great chemistry. But the chances of seeing them play with each other again may be close to zero.
