NBA Draft order for 2024 is established.

The selection order for the 2024 NBA Draft has officially been set. The Atlanta Hawks will receive the No. 1 overall pick on June 26 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The first 14 draft selections are determined by lottery, and every team but one will miss the 2024 postseason. The oddball out is the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have been granted the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 Draft.

Below is the final result from the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery.

With the No. 1 overall pick, the Hawks have the entire draft board open to add a young superstar to Atlanta’s roster to join 3x NBA All-Star Trae Young. Hawks guard Dejounte Murray had a breakout season during Young’s absence due to injury, averaging 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game in the 2023-2024 NBA season. The Hawks will likely look for a big man to accompany their young duo at the guard position.

No. 2 Washington Wizards:

After a disappointing season, the Wizards have been awarded the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, where they, too, hope to land another young star to add to their roster. Washington has a history of drafting all-star lottery picks, selecting former Wizard John Wall with the No. 1 overall pick in 2010 and current Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal with the No. 3 overall pick in 2012. The duo of Wall and Beal led the Wizards to multiple Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, so Washington looks to replicate that success with the No. 2 overall pick in 2024.

After a heartbreaking end to their 2024 regular season, being edged out of the playing tournament seed by the Golden State Warriors and finishing as the No. 11 seed in the West, the Rockets hope to complete the goal of entering the postseason in the 2024-2025 NBA season, with the help of the No. 3 overall pick. The Rockets have a young, scrappy core in Jalen Green and Dylan Brooks, both athletic players who can play both sides of the court, and adding on a talented young big man to compliment their young guards could be the key to Houston’s success in the future.

No. 4 San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs selected Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama in 2023 and now have the opportunity at another top-five pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to complement and grow Wembanyama and San Antonio’s success. Despite Wembanyama being awarded Rookie of the Year, the Spurs finished their 2023-2024 NBA season second to last in the Western Conference, with a record of 22-60.
