Breaking: Steve Cohen May Have Hinted At A Mets Trade

Steve Cohen, the owner of the New York Mets, caused a stir this week with a post on X. He was responding to a fan blog that suggested the Mets should completely rebuild. In his reply, Cohen seemed to suggest that the Mets might be looking to sell players at the trade deadline.

“All in the future,” Cohen wrote. “Not much we can do until trade deadline.”

Cohen posted this during a game against the Philadelphia Phillies and deleted it minutes later.

The Mets currently spend the most on player salaries in Major League Baseball, nearly $308 million. Last year, they also had the highest payroll and ended up trading several key players like Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, David Robertson, and others as their season deteriorated.

This season, the Mets” record is 19-23, and they are only one game away from a spot in the NL wild-card race. It”s too early to consider a major sell-off in May. However, if they decide to sell again at the deadline, we might see a big player leave.
