Breaking: You won’t believe why the Celtics “got a bye” to the NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics are inching closer to the NBA Finals.

They should be able to get the job done in just four games, as the Indiana Pacers won’t have Tyrese Haliburton again with an injured hamstring.

Even if that’s not the case, it’s highly unlikely that they will need more than five games to take care of business and punch their ticket to the NBA Finals.

With that in mind, ESPN insider Zach Lowe claimed that the Celtics have had a bye to the NBA Finals.

Talking on Get Up, he claimed that this may have been, at worst, the fourth-easiest path to the Finals in NBA history.

Of course, he didn’t blame the Celtics for that or felt like they should apologize, as you can only play who’s in front of you.

Lowe claimed that if they go against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals, it would be the first series where they don’t unequivocally have the best player, and that should be the first — and only — true test for this team in the playoffs.

He believes the Celtics haven’t been truly tested in the postseason, and they should benefit from all the rest for going 12-2, especially with Kristaps Porzingis still nursing an injury.
