Following Everton supporters’ outcry over Unai Emery’s approach, Aston Villa was instructed to sign Amadou Onana.

Ty Bracey believes that signing Amadou Onana would be perfect for Aston Villa next season as a further addition to squad depth.

The Villans have approached Everton to sign the Belgian international this summer, according to The Times (14 June).

The Toffees are looking to sell him before 30 June in order to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Villa podcaster Bracey has urged Villa to sign Onana this summer as Unai Emery prepares his squad for a heavily congested season.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I think that would be a great signing. He’s one of Everton’s standout players.

Looking at the fan reaction to the links, he isn’t somebody they want to let go. If you see that online then you know that the fans are fond of the player which is always a good sign.

I don’t think depth is a bad thing, next season there will be more rotation, especially with the Champions League so it’ll be good to have those options.

Even if we sign McKennie and Barkley it will be great to have adequate cover for injuries. Onana would feature heavily as a box-to-box if he signed and would fit perfectly into the Villa team.“

Aston Villa interested in Amadou Onana from Everton

The Villans are preparing for life without Douglas Luiz next campaign who looks set to join Juventus in a swap deal this summer.

A move involving McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior looks likely as Villa need to meet the Premier League PSR deadline.

Once his move to the Serie A giants is confirmed, Emery will be in need of a replacement option in the heart of midfield.

Onana could prove to be an ideal option as Everton looks to move the midfielder on to deal with financial issues of their own this summer.

Now it seems as if Tim Iroegbunam will be heading to Goodison Park in a move which may sweeten a deal for Villa and the Belgian international.

He is a player who has been tracked by the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and PSG this summer so he clearly possesses plenty of quality.

If Villa can move on players like Luiz and Iroegbunam then Onana could prove to be a perfect replacement.
