Christian Walker’s two further home runs, along with solid outings from Gabriel Moreno and Lourdes Gurriel Jr., helped the Arizona Diamondbacks defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 12–4 on the road.

Walker now has seven home runs in eight games against the Dodgers this season as the Diamondbacks rallied from a three-run deficit in the first inning. Walker had four hits, including a double and three runs scored.

Arizona right-hander Cristian Mena gave up four runs after four batters of his major league debut, but Diamondbacks pitching did not allow another run.

Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning as the Dodgers fell to 2-3 against Arizona at home this season. Dodgers starter Gavin Stone, who had a 1.62 ERA over his past six starts, gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks in three innings, striking out three.

The Diamondbacks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, loading the bases with one out but getting only a sacrifice fly from Gurriel.

Freeman hit a three-run home run as Los Angeles’ third batter of the game and Hernandez followed with a solo shot for a 4-1 lead.

As Mena settled down, the Diamondbacks got even with two outs in the third inning. Eugenio Suarez had an RBI double and Moreno hit a two-run home run to tie the score.

Mena gave up four runs on four hits over three innings with three walks and two strikeouts.

Arizona took a 5-4 lead in the fourth inning on Walker’s first home run of the game against Ryan Yarbrough (3-2).

Geraldo Perdomo bunted in a run for the Diamondbacks in the fifth. Gurriel hit a two-run home run in the sixth and Suarez added an RBI double in the eighth for a 9-4 lead. Walker added a three-run homer in the ninth, his 20th this season.

Bryce Jarvis (1-2) did not allow a run over 2 1/3 innings for Arizona.
