Wrexham go to Harrogate on back of 6-0 win against Morecambe
The Reds bounced back from the 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley, which ended an 11-game unbeaten run, by thrashing Morecambe 6-0 at The Racecourse in League Two on Saturday.
It was a brilliant display from start to finish as Wrexham, led by hat-trick hero Paul Mullin, cruised to victory and climbed up to second in the table, five points behind leaders Stockport County.
But Parkinson is keeping his feet on the ground and says his side now have to build on the success at Weatherby Road.
“It was an emphatic victory for us and a very high standard in some of our football,” said the Reds’ boss.
“We are very pleased but this game is done now.
“We didn’t get too down after the Accrington defeat and we are not going to get too high after this performance.
“We will go to Harrogate and give it everything we have got to keep our run going because we are in a terrific position.
“It has been an exciting season already and there is even more to come from us.
“There are players who will be back from injury sooner rather than later so hopefully the squad will be boosted by the time we get into the Christmas period.”
Prior to losing at Accrington, Wrexham picked up some stand-out away wins during the unbeaten run and Parkinson wants his players to take the initiative against Harrogate who sit 15th in the standings.
“As we have shown with Notts County, Mansfield and Crawley, we are a team that has to be on the front-foot,” said Parkinson.
