Everton targeting future youth at Goodison Park

The appointment of Vaughan as the club’s Head of Youth Recruitment is an extremely exciting prospect at Finch Farm.

With almost 400 senior appearances, and over a century of goals, during his career, the former striker knows exactly what is needed to become a future talent.

He was voted as Everton Under 16s player of the season for 2003–04 before making his full senior debut at 16 years and 271 days old, overtaking James Milner’s Premier League record and scoring, breaking Wayne Rooney’s record as the Toffees’ youngest top-flight scorer.

With Sean Dyche’s squad currently boasting the young talents of Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana, turning to youth can be an extremely useful avenue, which can even result in a lot of profit being made. The risk of relegation at Goodison Park is a very real prospect, with just four points separating them from Luton Town in the dropzone, which could be why Everton are focused on finding some quality youth prospects.
