Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to do something ‘special’ in one key position this summer.

There is plenty of work to do at Spurs as Ange Postecoglou continues to build a squad in his image.

The Aussie boss has Tottenham sitting fifth in the Premier League but their latest defeat at Fulham highlighted the need for extra quality in midfield.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are planning to bring in an ‘important’ player in the middle of the parkSpeaking to JD Football, Romano discussed Tottenham’s plans for the summer transfer window.

“I see Tottenham signing an important midfielder in the summer transfer window,” the transfer insider said. “But a really important one. I think they want to do something special in that position.”

Romano also added that he expects Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to leave this summer, which will only increase the likelihood of Spurs moving for another midfielder.
