Report: ‘Wonderful’ player will have a medical before signing for Everton this weekend

Arnaut Danjuma is scheduled to undergo his medical at Everton today.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has reported that the Dutchman will complete his medical tests at Finch Farm this weekend, meaning a deal could be done by tomorrow.

Danjuma joins the Toffees off the back of a rather underwhelming loan spell with Tottenham Hotspur, where he netted one goal in nine matches.

The 26-year-old wasn’t given many opportunities to impress in North London however, making only one start since joining the club in January.

Danjuma’s spell in the Premier League didn’t come without praise though, with Alan Shearer highlighting his ‘wonderful’ start after bagging a debut goal against Preston North End.

Danjuma will arrive at Goodison Park six months later than expected, having already been extremely close to joining the club during the January transfer window.

The forward had even already been introduced to some of his new teammates before Spurs swooped in and hijacked the deal at the last second.

Everton need to offer Arnaut Danjuma a clean slate

Some Everton fans were left feeling understandably bitter after Arnaut Danjuma jumped ship to join Tottenham, however there is no time to criticise him ahead of his move to Merseyside.

The Toffees need the Villarreal man to do as well as possible if they are to improve on last season’s disappointing attack and he will need the support behind him to do so.

Danjuma definitely won’t regret his move to Tottenham, however he will know that now is the time to show what he has and show that he can still make his mark in the top flight.

After previous success with Bournemouth, Danjuma could thrive off being a ‘big fish in a small pond’ and Sean Dyche is surely confident he can get the best out of him.
